About Our Business

Our business is hypnotherapy.  A Hypnotist knows how to hypnotize, but a Hypnotherapist
also knows how to help you improve your life, whether that means overcoming a trauma,
ending a phobia, stopping smoking or losing weight.  We use hypnosis to build
confidence, reduce stress, overcome insomnia, and enhance relationships.  When used
by a professional, hypnosis can help solve personal problems quickly and safely.

For many years, science has been trying to fully explain just how hypnosis actually
happens.  We see what people do, how they change using hypnosis, but it isn't clear
why
they do it.  This puzzle is really a small part of a much bigger puzzle:  how the human mind
works.  It's unlikely that scientists will have a definitive explanation of the mind in the
foreseeable future, so it's a good bet that hypnosis will remain something of a mystery as
well.

We do, however, understand the general characteristics of hypnosis:  it is a trance state
characterized by extreme relaxation and heightened imagination.  It's not really like
sleep, because the client is alert the whole time.  It is most often compared to
daydreaming, you are fully conscious, but you tune out most of the stimuli around you.
You focus intently on the subject at hand, to the near exclusion of any other thought.

Just as in a daydream, while in hypnosis, an imaginary world seems so real to you, in the
sense that it fully engages your emotions.  You experience feelings of happiness,
loneliness, hunger, thirst.  But the entire time, you are aware that it's only imaginary.  You
put your conscious mind in the back seat so that you and your therapist can communicate
directly with the subconscious.

Your subconscious regulates all your bodily sensations as well as your emotional
feelings.  When the access door is open, you and your hypnotherapist can give direction
and suggestions to the subconscious, and as long as those suggestions agree with the
desire of the client, change will take place.

Hypnosis does work...using your subconscious, you can make changes easily...giving you
control over your life...your future.
